Absence of the kidney :due to ureteric bud agenesis incidence 1:1000 left kidney more than right male more than female usually asymptomatic no treatment required
Supernumumery kidneys due to presence of two ueteric bud one side usualy asymptomatic is more rare than absence
Malrotation of the kidney
•Renal pelvis fail to rotate to medial side often seen with hourseshoe kidney , renal ectopia and Turner syndrome incidence 1:1000 male to fema 2:1 most patients are asymptomatic no treatment required
Fused kidney
•Horseshoe kidney incidence 1:400 male to female is 2:1 kidneys lie vertically instead oblique and join in midline at the lower pole in 95% by midline parynchymal tissue the inferior mesentric artery obstruct the isthmus it lie at level of L4 •Associated with other congenital anomalies like PUJ obstruction VUR and wilms tumor •Diagnosis by IVU CT Scan •No specific treatment except comlpications or other associated anomalies (PUJ) obstruction
